A single declared traversal edge in a DeclaredMetadataManifest (md.<name>.<category>.<key>). Exactly one of the two variants roots the edge — a from + via hop off an already-declared node, or a rootFrom static-context root. Modeled as an exclusive union so a shape the server's validatePathGraph rejects with HTTP 400 (neither root, both roots, from without via, or rootFrom combined with via) is a compile error rather than a runtime 400.
